Windows 10: .txt added as "filename.txt" when I open notepad app, it displays on every tab

Discus and support .txt added as "filename.txt" when I open notepad app, it displays on every tab in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I tried "View options" but nothing changes, every time I open notepad app, the save file on top displays the filename.txt > .txt was added....     I tried "View options" but nothing changes, every time I open notepad app, the save file on top displays the filename.txt > .txt was added.

    Notepad - Cant drag and drop to open txt

    Normally, if I have notepad open, I would be able to click and drag an appropriate file into notepad, like a txt file, and it would open in notepad. Now, when I click and drag files into notepad, nothing happens.

    Any Suggestions

    .txt added to Notepad text documents?

    Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    Close Notepad

    Open File Explorer, then on the top menu, select View - Show and uncheck 'File Name Extensions'

    Then open Notepad and check if the .txt file extension is no longer shown

    Drag and Drop txt to Notepad won't work


    Normally, if I have notepad open, I would be able to click and drag an appropriate file into notepad, like a txt file, and it would open in notepad. Now, when I click and drag files into notepad, nothing happens.
