Windows 10: Why am I not getting a link or email to help me reset my pin to log into in my laptop?

I forgot my pin after not using my laptop for awhile. I keep clicking on "I forgot my pin" and NOTHING is happening except it's going back to the screensaver page. I can't get into settings and I tried logging into my account from my phone and it doesn't show me a way to reset my pin there either.

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Click on Sign-in options on the log on screen. Select Microsoft account.
• Try logging in using Microsoft account and password.
• Once you log into the system, try to change the PIN under accounts/sign-in page.
• Select the Start
  
  button, then select
  Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
• Try to reset the PIN.

I logged in to my account from another laptop.

2 step verification isn't enabled

In the security page, there is no option to reset PIN, only an option to reset email password "Which I can't use to log into the laptop"

We understand how difficult it could be and we appreciate the time and effort that you have taken to work this issue. However, in order to get clarity, we would need some more information regarding the issue.

1. Were you using the “Old email (account) address” regardless of not using laptop?
   
2. Are both the email addresses linked?
   
3. Could you please let us know, where exactly you get prompt for the password for the “Old email address” in the desktop?
   
4. What is the exact error message you get when you try to log in to laptop?
   
5. Does your desktop has two user profiles?
   

In the meantime, we would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check.



You would need to have internet connection in laptop, so that the password change could get updated and it seems that the laptop is not connected to the internet, we would suggest you to connect Ethernet cable to laptop and then
try logging in to the laptop with the new password for the old email address.
