Windows 10: Why does my laptop flash black and my fan overheats and gets loud?

I am on a school laptop so i am restricted to some things. Such as using windows key + R. My laptop fan is really loud and it keeps overheating but for some reason when im using my laptop the screen randomly goes black repetitively but doesnt actually shut down my laptop? I don’t know what it could be because its happening every day and my laptop always freezes and flashes black. This problem usually happens when I am playing a game from xbox live roblox , but it also happens randomly when i am just on Microsoft Edge and windows.

Unresponsive Laptop with black screen and loud fans

Unresponsive laptop with black screen, loud fan noise. I turned my laptop to update and shutdown after some time when i comeback i see a black screen and fans working really loudly.I decided to check if it was oveheated. I checked and it was not! I tried to restart and it wasnt responding to me at all. It bas been 4hours into the night and it is still being loud with its fans. Please help immediately.

If anyone was curious about The Surface 3 Laptop performance, running programs at different times, I do chunks of research sometimes of independent/multidisciplinary studies and coursework so sometimes I have lots of tabs open .

Please try the following steps:

1. Clean the air vent

If your laptop is still loud or the fan is constantly running, you should also check the air vents for dust, which might clog your device. To do so, aim a can of compressed air toward your laptop's fan vents at an angle, taking care not to spray air directly inside your machine. It's also a good idea to clean your laptop's vents every 6 months as a preventative measure, ensuring dust buildup won't cause your computer to overheat.

2. Stop unnecessary programs running in the background

Laptops often run programs in the background while you're working in a different window. Those programs, as well as any windows you have open, can bog down your device. Here's how you can check to see if that's your issue:

To remove background programs for Windows:

1. Launch the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
   
2. Right-click the program you want to end.
   
3. Click End Task.
   

3. Update your drivers

Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your laptop's fan. You can download the drivers from the manufacturer's website.


If the above steps don't resolve the problem, you may need to replace the fan.
