I am trying to transfer a file from a flash drive to the system hard drive M2. NVME SSD GEN 3 . The motherboard has two M2. sockets . I have the windows OS drive running from "chipset" socket , not the socket near CPU . The reason for that has to do with bandwidth sharinng with SATA ports . However , at the moment no SATA drives are attached . This system assembled on bench getting tested before installation in a case .Windows 11 falsely states "out of memory" . i7-6700K , 64GB DDR4 2666 . 2. Windows 10 System Memory Transfer

    Hello Kranis,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community and providing us with the detailed description about the issue.

I certainly understand your concern and will try my best to help you.

I really appreciate all your efforts in trying to fix the issue.

I would suggest you to try the methods mentioned below and check if that helps.

    Method 1:

To diagnose the problem whether any third party program or application is causing the conflict, I would suggest you to try “clean boot” and check if it helps.

Placing your system in “Clean Boot” state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135?wa=wsignin1.0

If the issue does not occur in “Clean Boot”, then you may determine which application/service on the computer is causing this issue. This can be done by following the instructions for
“Windows 8.1 and Windows 8” given in the section “How to determine what is causing the problem by performing a Clean Boot” from the same given link.

Note: Refer "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.

The above steps holds good for Windows 10 as well.

If the issue persists, follow method 2

    Method 2:

How to use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files, please follow the steps in the link provided below.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files - Microsoft Support

Note: System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. This article describes how
to run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)to
scan your system files and to repair missing or corrupted system files in Windows 8.1 or Windows 8.
If a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected.

The above steps holds good for Windows 10 as well.

If the issue persists, follow method 3

    Method 3:

Please run Memory Diagnostic Tool and check if it helps. Please follow the steps to run Memory Diagnostic tool.

    • Press Windows
key + W key together on the keyboard and type "memory" without quotes.

    • Click on "Diagnose your computer's memory problems".

    • Select the recommended option to run the tool.
Also, I would suggest you to download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website including chipset drivers and check if that helps.

Please visit the link given below to download the drivers.

    Download and install drivers

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/all-drivers

The above steps holds good for Windows 10 as well.

I hope this information is helpful.

Please do let us know if you need any further assistance, we will be glad to assist you.

    Thank you.

File Transfer Speed from Windows 11 to Synology NAS is VERY SLOW vs. Windows 10

I have a new Windows 11 PC and I'm noticing that the file sharing to my Synology NAS is very slow vs when I transferred files from my older Windows 10 PC.

    File Transfer Speeds:

    • Windows 11 to NAS (DS1520+) = 11.5 MB/s
    • Windows 11 to Windows 10 = 112 MB/s (much faster)
    • File size = 30GB

    Note:

    • Windows PCs and NAS are all Ethernet connected on 1GB home network.
    • Running: Windows 11 Pro 23H2
    • Running: DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 5

Any suggestions on how to speed this up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

file will not transfer . windows 11 falsely states "out of memory" in 64gb system ....

    USB Drive 64gb can't transfer a 10gb file.

    Hi,

Please answer the questions mentioned below in order to assist you in a better way.

    • Did you try transferring the same file to another USB drive and check if the error persists?
    • Did you try to transfer another file of the same size to the USB drive?
FAT32 file system does not support that large size of file transfer. As you rightly mentioned you have to convert the file system to NTFS for such huge file transfers to take place.

    Thank you.
