Windows 10: cmd powercfg/batteryreport shows "no batteries are currently installed" but all drivers are...

I've had an issue with my battery for quite a while. I've changed it recently and reinstalled the battery drivers uninstall then scan for hardware change, yet the battery is still not detected under the battery report.It also shows "CONNECTED STANDBY Not supported"

Cannot run powercfg /batteryreport. Error 0x408

Windows 10 x64 1903

I cannot run powercfg /batteryreport from an elevated command prompt. The error:

"C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg /batteryreport

Unable to perform operation. An unexpected error (0x408) has occurred: (null)"

Diagnostic Policy Service is running.

Power service is running.

Ran:

"DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth"

To no avail.

Ran:

"sfc /scannow"

To no avail.

Tried running "powercfg /batteryreport" command from another admin profile, to no avail.

"Powercfg /?" returns the list of commands. Some commands produce the same error, others do not.

 

Error 0x422 on running powercfg /batteryreport from Administrator Command Prompt





I run on Windows 10 Home Single Language.

The command worked twice previously, but mysteriously stopped functioning later on, giving this error.

I've also tried powercfg /batteryreport /output C:\some\path\here.

I've checked this thread, and have not received a plausible answer.

Usually, battery wears out by time and likely is the case here. Eventually, they need replacement.

You can confirm by the battery report using these steps.

Type cmd in search. Right click the result and press enter. Paste the following command.

powercfg /batteryreport /output "C:\battery_report.html"

You should see a battery report in C: drive.
